Suicide model’s ex ‘quizzed over rape’

MODEL Noemie Lenoir has been released from hospital and is recovering at home after last week’s overdose of drugs and alcohol.

Her father, Patrick Lenoir, a retired electrician, said his daughter was feeling better but declined to give any more details yesterday.

Miss Lenoir – who has earned around [euro]10m for fronting Marks & Spencer’s highly successful advertising campaign – took the toxic cocktail last Sunday. The 30-year-old was staying at the home of her former boyfriend, ex-Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele, with whom she has a five-year-old son, Keylan.

Last night the saga took a new twist as it emerged that French police interviewed Makelele last summer as a witness about the alleged rape of a young woman at the Ritz Hotel in Paris.

He was questioned after the girl was allegedly given the ‘rape drug’ GHB by a friend of the footballer as the three drank champagne together in a hotel bar.

Meanwhile another of Miss Lenoir’s lovers, millionaire playboy Carl Hirschmann, has been accused of drugging young models and taking part in orgies at his Swiss nightclub. He is currently on [euro]350,000 bail in Zurich while the allegations are investigated.

The scandals surrounding the two men are said by friends of Miss Lenoir to have left her ‘hugely traumatised and unable to cope’.

Previous reports had suggested her turmoil was linked to her relationship with Hirschmann. But it has now been revealed that she had a row with Makelele on the evening she took the near-fatal overdose.

A friend of the family said it happened just after Makelele told her he was leaving her. According to the friend, a ‘non-violent’ argument broke out.
